A New Look at Newt[ Examiner by Anthony Martin] www.examiner.com/conservative-in-national/a-new-look-at-newt-1"The only area in which Newt is weak is gun rights. Newt’s record is a mixed bag on the issue. Gun Owners of America gave Newt a rating of ‘A’ prior to his becoming Speaker of the House. But after that, their rating plummeted to ‘D’ due to Gingrich’s support for some highly regrettable legislation that restricted gun rights and supported limited gun bans. This, no doubt, is highly problematic. And it is probably enough to prevent most conscientious gun owners from supporting a Gingrich candidacy." - Anthony Martin At least Mr. Gingrich hasn’t suddenly become an NRA life member and suddenly recalled a lifetime history of hunting, like John McCain did in 2008.

Gingrich will come clean by fully supporting the High Court's ruling on the 2nd amendment.

I would vote for him in a heartbeat over Romney. Newt is a brilliant man who has been there, done that. I don't quite get the media rhetoric about his supposed baggage. What? He's rich and can afford to buy his wife really nice things? God bless him. I wish I could do the same. It's his money and he can spend it any way he chooses. Some on the right are starting to sound like the lefties who condemn the rich. He has a temper? Yeah, well maybe that's what we need in the White House, not some candy-ass wannabe who hides under his bed for months before making a decision about anything.

Gingrich would be MUCH better than our current POTUS, but he DOES have more "baggage" than just guns and buying expensive gifts for his wife. He has been all over the place on numerous things, including global warming and welfare/entitlements. He also has some big divorce questions that will certainly come out and be used against him if he wins the nomination.
Lastly, anyone who wins the Republican nomination WILL be put under the microscope by the news media, and any/all of their "imperfections" will be highlighted by the news media....who will STILL pamper and praise their "teleprompter-in-chief".

I agree Dawg. I wish I had the answer. We look to be truly screwed no matter which way we turn. People don't have the stomach for the hard choices.
As we all know, our first priority is to get rid of Obama, no matter what it takes. We have a better chance of making things the way we need them without a Socialist in the White House. Although I don't mind telling you, I am getting real tired of looking over my shoulder whenever we put a RINO in charge.

I doubt Gingrich will get it too many people just don't care for him even before hearing about his baggage. I think Desertdawg has it right about the waffling and now you have the Freddie Mac issue coming up.

All I can ask for is SOMEONE worthy of my vote.........
So far its like playing Russian roulette with an 1911. I agree about him being better than Romney, however I am still waiting for a truly good candidate.
Gingrich would make a good candidate if he didn't waffle so much.
